Grameen Bank
Grameen Bank, started by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus in 1976, is a microfinance institution (MFI) that serves the financial needs of the poor in Bangladesh. It uses an innovative, collateral-less loan called microcredit to help the rural poor get themselves out of poverty through their own efforts. Aside from loans, Grameen Bank also offers other financial services to the poor including insurance and savings accounts. |

Grameen Shikkha is an organization within the Grameen family that is focused on education. Its mission is to improve the existing educational system in Bangladesh through several different means. Their methods include providing merit-based financial support to poor students through scholarships, promoting education and organizing facilities for education and training. |

Grameen Foundation, USA
Grameen Foundation, USA offers tiny loans, financial services and technology to help the poor - mostly women - start self-sustaining businesses to escape poverty. The foundation was established in 1997 by a group of friends who were inspired by the work of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. Their global network of microfinance partners reaches over 3 million families in 22 countries. |
